My passionate rantings

Long Time
Tuesday, September 27, 2005

I know it's been a while since my last post, but not too much has really happened until recently. I'll be going to the next course in my cadet officer career. "military occupation course - MOC" to learn more of the Navy side of the military. Which means that I go back to Victoria, Albert Head to be exact. I had a blast last time I went and some of the people I was on course with last time will be there again.

I had my surgeon's appointment today. He wants to do a bone graft in a few months. Not wanted to hear. A graft means going under an anesthetic instead of numbing my hand two big incision sites instead of one small (he takes the extra bone from my hip), six weeks in a cast, another six weeks in a splint, physio-therapy, and two weeks off of work to give my incisions time to heal before exposing them to kitty and puppy "stuff". But he said the tumor is benign, and I only have the one!

John bought me one of the kittens from work the i had mistakenly fallen in love with. One of the hazards of working in a pet store as the "primary care giver". He is my birthday present which is in a week. This little guy is so adorable, he has Wicket's colouring but Danials's fur, and he's got some white around his moth that makes him look like he's grinning! But the best pre-present that John gave me was his sudden hatred of having to "ask my daddy" every time we want something. So as he's purchasing the kitten he telling me that we're moving out in November! I'm so excited, it'll be great to have our own freedom again. It's been way too long since we've been on our own.

So what are going to name the kitten? Boy or girl? Sorry that you have to have a bone graft but I'm glad that it's only one tumor. Congrats on moving out! You'll probably be happier when it's just the two of you again (well plus 3 cats!)
Are you coming down to Kamloops for Chistmas?
