News
Tuesday, February 21, 2006

I have a bit of good news and some bad. The good news is that I got the job at Dell. It's got me a bit terrified because I'm normally the one calling in to find out what's wrong with my computer. Now people will be calling me instead. The bad news is that we'll be putting off the move for a month. John will be getting a $500 bonus after I'm there for three whole months, and we'll both be getting three paychecks in June. Which will give us an extra $6000 for the move and monthly expenses when we get to the coast. So the new moving day is June 27 with a stop in the 'loops to visit family and we should be on the coast by June 30. I hate putting the move off, but we'd feel better with the extra money. It'll mean furniture in the new home, movies with friends and basic survival until we get jobs. We're even looking at an air filter system to help friends with allergies (you know who you are), so they can visit.

Count down re-begins at 18 weeks. I hope Jackie has found a nice coffee shop by then. I think that's one thing I'm most excited about doing again. Our weekly coffee shop walks. (no that not a hint for anything!)

My Husband's an Alberta Driver!
Monday, February 13, 2006

Go figure! We decide to move back to BC and he starts picking up some bad Alberta habits. For example, pulling up to a red light and stopping a full car length into the intersection. We drive a Crown Victoria! It's a big car! Then the next day I comment on something we drive past at least twice a day and he swerves into the on coming lane to see what I'm commenting on. (It was a mild comment. I was simply wondering at the history of a very old, abandoned house and barn. As I said we drive past them everyday) But those are only some of the things he's started doing. Ah well, so long as he leaves the scary Alberta driving in Alberta I'll be happy.

I found out the other day that an ex-gf of John's has been emailing him occasionally in the last year. Now that fact would not have affected me, John was upfront with that right from the start. It was the content that upset me. She would email him with very personal details of her sex life, ask John about his, and if he's happy with his. She asked him to tell her something personal about himself, stuff he's never told anyone, not even his wife. She's even gone so far as to say that I'm pressuring him into adopting a child, and has tried talking him out of it. That was a decision that WE came to after months of discussing and planning. I've seen his responses to her emails, and I'm happy with those. He never spoke about anything personal, and never called me down in any way. We spent most of that night talking about her emails and how we felt about them. This is the same ex-gf who came into my hairdressing school and accused me of stealing her bf (they hadn't been together for more than a year), and just after I moved to the coast she called him to see if he would sleep with her. John's got me calmed down for now (I've never doubted where his heart is. Have I mentioned how much I love John?) but if she ever sees us anywhere she'd better go the other way and pray I didn't see her. There's a reason she's John's EX-girlfriend. She's also married! I wonder if her husband knows she's asked mine about being in a threesome?

Anyway, enough of that for now. 15 weeks and counting! I can't wait to see everyone! I've told my cousin that I'm planning on being a social sponge running around absorbing up everyone's company for a while!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Student Driver
Wednesday, February 08, 2006

No not me. John and I went to the base today to pick-up the rest of my uniform. As we drove around a corner we came face to face with an Armored vehicle (it looked like a small tank without the cannon), with a florescent yellow sign saying "student driver" hanging from the barrel of the very large gun. After we almost peed ourselves because of this gun suddenly pointed in our direction, we almost peed ourselves laughing at the sign. What a way to say "don't mess with me, I'm just learning!" I think I want something like that when I eventually go for my licence!

I want to ask everybodies advise as well. I'm nervous about telling my father that we're moving back. And even more nervous about telling him why. My first instict is to just pack up and leave without a good-bye, but then I imagin two things. 1. How much his heart will break at my leaving and not knowing what he did wrong. Even assholes have feelings that can be hurt. Especially if they don't know they're assholes. 2. Howmuch he'll harrass my mom and sister. First he'll take his anger out on my mother for raising someone who so inconciderate, and second he'll try to get contact info from them for money he thinks we own him. But if I tell him personnaly that I've had enough of his attacks on my husband, then I have to deal with his anger alone. There's no way in hell I'm gonna let John be there if I do this.

I would love to see everyone's opinion on this.

WE'RE MOVING HOME!!!!
Saturday, February 04, 2006

For everyone whom we have not had the chance to tell our exciting news...WE'RE MOVING HOME!!! Home being BC. We're hoping to move to the Langleyish area, but it depends on where we can get jobs. I might go back to a salon, but now that I have some professional animal exp under my belt I may also go for vet offices or another pet store. Our official "move out of Alberta" day will be May 30. We'll spend a day in the 'Loops and be on the coast by June 1. We'll have to save up every penny we make so to make that easier I'm trying to get a second job. John took my resume into Dell and after he told them some of the things I've done to our computer they became "ravenous wolves". Apparently if I had my resume in before last Wednesday I would have been working already. So by the end of this month I may be working full time at Dell and part time at the Pet store that I love. Yay! This means we'll be able to save $5000 in the next 4 months instead of $1300.

I spoke to my surgeon last Friday. Looks like I'll be in this stupid splint for another 6 weeks. The bone hasn't knitted, but he says that's normal for the amount of healing that I have to do. It's not like a simple break. I also started Physiotherapy and I'm not sure which is more painful. The surgery or my therapist massaging the scare tissue! The electro therapy was fun though. It makes my hand move when I didn't tell it too, and it tingles everywhere!

WE'RE MOVING HOME!!! I can't wait to see everyone again!
