Life
Saturday, April 29, 2006

Well it's been a few weeks so I thought I'd update. John's really been enjoying fight practice, three weeks and many big bruises later. We are now looking at paying fees and becoming official members. John’s looking at getting armor, and I’m even dabbling with the idea of OCCASIONALLY getting in armor too, but I’m only thinking about it. I had to take last Wednesday off so I went to fight practice too. There’s nothing quite like watching her mate in plastic armor with wooden sword, to make a woman all tingly inside! He he.

I got the referral to BC women’s hospital that I was hoping for. From everything I hear they have a good record for helping women with infertility. So I’ve got another reason to look forward to the move. I also hear that the reason John and I don’t have a baby yet, may be something as simple as not producing enough pregnancy hormone. We still want to adopt, but I would also like to find out what is wrong with my body.

Work is going really well. Who knew I would enjoy fixing other people’s computers. I still don’t understand “geek speak”, but I’m getting there.

We bought another kitchen table and set of chairs the other day. It looks nice and it’s bigger than what we have now. As I’m looking forward to having friends and family over for dinner a lot, bigger is a better idea. As I mentioned in a previous blog, I’m starved for human companionship and plan on catching up on lost time.

9 weeks!

Fight Practice
Thursday, April 13, 2006

He he...John went to fight practice tonight. He got up in armour and did some heavy fighting! Ofcourse it was his first night tonight so they had to break him in. Meaning he had the snot beaten out of him. Funny thing is that he had a good time doing it. He'll be going again next week, and hopfully every week until we move. He may even look at fight practice on the coast. unfortunatly, unless my work schedule changes, I'm not going to see any of this. Anyway, if you'll please excuse me, I must go nurse my little warrior's BIG bruises. Any of you ex-heavy's remember what that means?

The Car is Fixed!
Monday, April 10, 2006

What happened with the car was the Idler Arm. Something John was told to fix before Christmas, but for one reson or another it was never done. So the other day it finally gave out and let go of the stabilizer bar that it was holding. The bar shifted and started rubbing the fan belt. Yesterday the belt snapped like the dry twig it was. So, to fix our large luxury car cost us about $150 plus the cost of taking my father and his wife to dinner. AND WE DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE IT TO CANADIAN TIRE!!!

That doesn't mean John and I feel better with him. (Our conversations yesterday were very strained.) It just means that he did us a big favor and we want to thank him.

Now all we have to do is get the oil change tomorrow, have it inspected, tuned up and it's all good. YAY!!! I love my car, can anyone tell?

Still 11 weeks.

Good Weekend
Sunday, April 09, 2006

My Technical training at Dell is done, now I just have the transition phase to do. I start takeing calls on Wednesday (after a four day weekend!) and I'm scared out of my mind! I can do the custormer service part easily - it's the technical part that has me terrified. I know after a while I'll get the "hang of it" but the idea of those first few calls still scares me.

I took the opportunity my four day weekend plus the beautiful weather outside have given me, and done some much needed yard work. Or mud work in my case, but at least it's clean mud now. The fresh air and the hard work has helped me destress a bit.

Today we took our wheels to get washed and I was amased to find we actually had a car under that mud pie! A big white one at that! Apparently the car didn't like getting washed, though, 'cuz John just called me from a pay phone saying that it just broke down. Two days before we were going to get it to the mechanic for maintenance! The closest place for him to take it on a Sunday is Canadian tire! **shutters and crosses fingers that they don't screw us**

I've been reading over my blogs lately and realized that I lead a very boring life! Oh well I'm sure that will all change when we get back to the coast in 11 WEEKS!!!!
