You Are Barney

You could have been an intellectual leader...

Instead, your whole life is an homage to beer

You will be remembered for: your beautiful singing voice and your burps

Your life philosophy: "There's nothing like beer to give you that inflated sense of self-esteem."

You Are Wolverine

Small but fierce, you're a great fighter.
Watch out! You are often you're own greatest enemy.

Powers: Adamantium claws, keen senses, the ability to heal quickly
Which of the X-Men Are You?

Me heal quickly? That's a joke!

Dragon's Wife
Sunday, June 11, 2006

I have the most romantic husband I could have ever wanted. At midnight we gave each other our anniversary gifts. My main gift to John is a set of brushed steel dice. http://www.rpgshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=36638& I made him another dice bag to go with it, as the one I made for the wedding is now too small to fit all of his dice. I also got him a Pac Man game for his Nintendo Advanced. I thought I did really well in the “meaningful gifts” department until he showed me what he got me. I once told John about a favorite movie I had when I was a child. The Last Unicorn. He found it on the net and ordered it from Amazon. I was speechless. I had no idea what to say! I couldn’t even say I love you or thank-you.

I went to give blood on Wednesday (as I'm sure you have all already read on John's blog). Everything would have been fine except for the soup that I eat after. In the middle of the blood services building they have a concession that serves cookies, juice and soup for those who just donated. Apparently the nurses have been trying to get soup taken off the menu because it will make a donor faint every time. Something about the blood rushing to the stomach to digest it. Anyway, because I was feeling bad, John went and canceled the rest of our anniversary celebrations. But we carried on the next day. On the way home from the blood clinic, we stopped at Superstore where we got the Back to the Future trilogy and a portable DVD player. (The player came in handy yesterday while I was waiting to see a Dr. at a walk in clinic.)

We went to “The Big Mall” on Thursday and designed the tattoos we’ve been wanting for a very long time. I also bought him a really nice set of Sushi dishes and a matching set of dragon chop sticks. We eat at this really nice place, Edo Japan. I think there’s one in Metrotown. They had this really nice steak dish that made our mouths water for a few hours after. I’m planning on getting the recipe so I can have all our friends over and we can use our new dishes! After food we got the tattoos done. Mine says “Dragon Wife” and John’s says “Tiger husband”. It hurt, lots. Mine still feels like a bad sun burn.

3.5 weeks til we're outta here!
Sunday, June 04, 2006

Yup, a lot has been happening in the last 3 weeks. Packing, giving notice to everyone, reserving the moving truck and car trailer and telling my father. Yes, you read it right, we told my father. John and I took him out for breakfast, had great conversation, then told him we're moving back to BC. He seemed a little upset until he asked if we were moving back to Kamloops. When we said that we were moving to the Vancouver area, he calmed down. I have to admit that I was almost disappointed, I was expecting fireworks and instead got a sparkle stick. I'm thinking the fireworks will really start when he finds out that he's not getting another penny from us after we move. Oh well.

I lost Anakin the other day. It's VERY unusual for him to leave the front area of our house, or not come when he's called (yes my kitten thinks he's a dog), so when we couldn't find him I got really worried. We live in coyote country so I was terrified that my little buddy had been taken by them. It didn't help that while our little search party (we had friends offer to help to look for him) was combing the farm around us, I found a fresh kill site. We don't just let him out, he goes out on a harness and tether, but this time he tore the tether in two. After an hour or so, our friends had to leave and John had to go to work. So I came in for a bit and cried on my mom's wonderful shoulder, and chatted with Jackie (both of them really helped me feel better). After having something to eat and cleaning myself up, I went back outside, this time I followed a pissed off squirrel who led me straight to my kitten. (Maybe I shouldn't be calling him a kitten, he's about 15 lbs, but he's still only 10 months old) At first all I saw was his tail draped around a log in a very bad position. Then I saw the rest of him dangling from his leash which was tangled in some chicken wire on top of a camper. The body part of his harness had snapped apart so he was dangling by his throat and under a log which had fallen on him. He wasn't moving so I thought he was dead. Then he blinked at he and it...um...startled me a lot. So anyway he's ok minus some bumps and scrapes, but he's never going to see the light of day again!

Our third anniversary is coming up in a few days. John and I both took the day off for that so we can finally spend time together. I can't wait to give him the gift I ordered for him! We're gonna go out for dinner and go see X3. Dell is treating all of their employees to an X3 movie night. They're going to try and rent a theater for a few nights. With the schedules John and I have, there's no way we'd be able to go on the same night.

As a hobby I started painting RPG pewter miniatures. So far I have a were-tigress, a barbarian shamaness, a mage, red and gold dragon baby (where did mama dragon go wrong?!?) and I'm currently painting a female dwarf fighter (mustache and all, though I can't tell if she has a beard). I have familiars waiting to be painted and John's ordered me an oriental dragon and phoenix, hopefully I'll get those soon. John's really looking forward to DMing a minis game with everyone.

24 days till we move out of here.
27 days till we move into our new home on the coast!
