John and I work in one of the tallest building in Edmonton. Right now I have a west facing view, I can see all the way to BC I'm sure (or at least to the rockies). As I was waiting for John to finish his shift I noticed that the blinds had a red aura around them. I peeked out and saw an amazing sunset. One that took up my whole view. Because I had lots of time to wait, I also had lots of time to think. In 6 weeks John and I will be able to walk to English Bay and watch the sunsets on the water again or take the ferry across to Lonsdale quay or New West Quay on Sundays and spend the day at the market. we can go back to our church that we used to go to, or taking the skytrain over the Frasier river again. How much I've missed those simple things, suddenly hit me.
John's mom is trying to talk him out of moving back. The reason she gave today is that we haven't given Edmonton enough time. "It takes years to get established." My only thought to that was "why should we wait longer to get established here, when we're already established there?" We have friends and family there, and finding a home and jobs will be easy. Jackie's been a great help finding both of those so far. I can't wait to show her how much I appreciate all her help.
Anyway, it's only 6 weeks til the move and I'm homesick. 6 weeks is not soon enough.
