Air Care
Thursday, May 17, 2007

So our car failed it air care test today. Two out of three tests! The Nitrogen (NOx) failed at more then double the average reading - because our car burns lean. That means that there's not enough fuel going to the engine. The Hydrocarbons failed with FOUR times the average reading - because at 291 thousand Km, our valve seals are going and we burn oil. The engine burning lean we could have done something about, however we've had the seals looked at, and the only thing we can do about those is rebuild/replace the engine. For that cost we may as well get a new car. The frustrating part is I remember a conversation I had with John in Edmonton just before we moved back, where I said "the car blows blue smoke, it will not pass air care." All I ever got was "well, we'll see." Now it's failed for both reasons I said it would and I can't help but fell a bit sarcastic: OMG, the woman might know what she's talking about!

On the lighter side, I might actually get my uniform jacket tailored tomorrow. We did have a good day today before the test. We drove out to "the 'Wack" and had lunch at White spot by Chilliwack mall. I had planned on calling a new friend of ours there to see if she was up to anything. Then I looked down and saw that I was wearing a tank top, short shorts and hadn't shaved in a few weeks. I felt like a female Sasquatch (the perfect mate for my bush-man) all of a sudden, and really wanted to go home! I know, it's an incredibly LAME excuse. However that's what I was thinking at the time. Oh well, may be next time, we can still insure the car for three months...

Are you guys going to buy a new car now or just use the one you have for the three months and go back to transit/walking everywhere?

We haven't really decided yet. I think it depends on if we're moving or not. If we move then we can save some money to get one. If not, then we'll do transit.

Okay that IS a lame excuse! I was probably hairier at the time...and like *I* care how hairy your legs are...
I mean really the ONLY reason I'd care would be to make sure that if I was hairy too we didn't walk too close together and get tangled in each other's leg hair....

BWAHAHA okay that is a funny image..
