OMG this weekend was amazing! It started at 5am yesterday morning after 4 hours sleep. Got to the hall, packed everyone up in the bus and got to the range in Chilliwack (the fish and game club) about 8:30am. We had two ranges running, one for the .22 rifles and one for archery - Cam's (2Lt. Hull, one of the officers I work with) wife is a member of the SCA, so he had the Target Archery Marshal come in and teach the cadets archery! We ran the cadets through each range in relays of 7 or 8 cadets each. I was supervising the archery range when our commanding officer shut down the .22 range and sent those cadets my way. Without radioing anyone to warn us that he was going to "sight" his new scope for his hunting rifle (I didn't catch what type it was, but it was big), starts firing this thing. I almost died laughing as 16 cadets crapped themselves!!! The archery range was on the other side of the property from the rifle range, and his rifle still deafened us!
We sent the relays through the ranges a few times each, then the staff got to go through. Apparently it was very comical how fast that first-aid kit came off my back so I could shoot the bow and arrows. Then I got to the .22 range! I have never fired a rifle before (the Daisy 853C air rifles don't count. They're not considered "weapons" because the pellets don't travel fast enough to kill anyone - they hurt like hell though.) Out of 43 people who went on the range, only two people had better targets then me, and they've been training since they were in army cadets (as cadets) 20 years ago.
My target would have been even better if those other two officers had not been kicking my foot to distract me. Hence the two rounds not in the bull's eye! Keep in mind that I've never done this before!
The rest of the weekend was fun, too. A pair of cadets thought it would be fun to spay Lysol in other's eyes, and another cadet talked in her sleep about turtles on a trampoline, romances started and romances ended. You know, all the regular stupid teenage stuff. Officers and parent volunteers stayed awake playing Rummy and generally joking around until 1am. We got back about 2pm, and after I got home I had a bath and crashed for 6 hours! I'm sore from the ends of my hair to the tips of my toes but it was worth EVERY bit of it. I can't wait until the next Ex.

The range was equiped for 25, 50, 100 and 200 meter targets. However, because we were working with teenagers, we only used the 25 meter targets

On our indoor air rifle range we use 10 meters.
