I request that everyone take a moment to tell everyone around you (spouse, children, parents, friends etc.) how much you love and appreciate them. One moment you could be enjoying a conversation and the next they could be gone. A car ran a red light tonight while John and I were crossing the street. The driver was not paying attention and was speeding, coming right at us from the other side of the intersection.
I thank God for stopping that car where he did. The car stopped less then 6 inches from John (please remember it was speeding). In one terrifying moment I looked over and saw my husband standing between the headlights, heard the tires screeching and I realized that everything we had ever fought over was nothing. No words will ever describe how scared I was that John was going to get hurt, feel pain or worse...die right there on the street in front of me. Of course, logically speaking, the way we were positioned I would have been hit, too. However, that didn't enter my mind until after we'd gotten to the other side.
On a much lighter note, the December and January financial hurtles are over and we can start breathing easier. All of our nasty debts are paid off and now we can start paying off the little bills and our wonderful parents who helped us. We're also able to start putting money aside into savings! John and I are even going on a date on Sunday night!!!
Anakin is doing much better. He's gaining lots of weight and should be over 11lbs now. Still not the almost 15lbs that he was but I'm happy anyway.
Our building has gotten easier to live in and I'm almost liking it now. The pot head across the hall is gone, our new neighbour is a paramedic, and for some reason the toddler downstairs has been really quiet.
Anyway I gotta go and appreciate the man I came too close to losing tonight.
